In a shocking announcement made by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, American citizens are believed to have been killed and or taken hostage as a result of the terrorist attacks that began to hit Israel since Saturday, October 7.
The U.S. is now actively working to verify reports of American hostages being taken by jihadists and transported to the Gaza Strip, according to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. On Meet The Press, he confirmed that several Americans may have been killed in the attacks that shook Israel since Saturday morning, and revealed that they are also trying to confirm whether any citizens have been taken hostage as well.

This marks a major shift in U.S.-Israel policy as this is the first time since 1973 they have officially entered a state of war due to a surprise attack from Islamists launching thousands of rockets across the country and committing massacres of civilians in cities throughout Israel’s southern region as well as capturing military equipment and abducting an unknown number of hostages.
With death tolls nearing 1,000 people, it’s clear why this situation has escalated so quickly for both countries.
When asked about the US taking on a larger role in securing both Israeli and American hostages from these attacks, Blinken stated that they are still working on establishing facts before making any decisions or actions related to their involvement which could be detrimental if not properly planned out beforehand given how volatile the situation currently is between both countries.
However he made it clear that any American who is detained or held hostage will be considered a priority for this administration moving forward regardless of where they were taken from if those reports can be verified through further investigation into what truly happened during these events over recent days.

Kristen Welker followed up asking whether there could potentially be some US citizens taken hostage which Anthony Blinken briefly affirmed was correct – though no further details were provided at this time regarding who exactly may have been affected during these attacks against Israel.
