Recently, Democrat congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) blew up at GOP Rep. Clay Higgins after he had questioned a witness whom had been repeatedly shouting.
The Louisiana congressman and other GOPers on the House Oversight Committee were accused by AOC of disrespecting leftist lawyer Raya Salter during her testimony.
Higgins and Salter had gotten into a heated shouting exchange, where, at one point, Higgins called Salter “boo” as he pressured her to answer his question.
“In the four years that I’ve sat on this committee, I have never seen members of Congress, Republican or Democrat, disrespect a witness in the way that I have seen them disrespect you today,” AOC pontificated. “I do not care what party they are in. I’ve never seen anything like that.”
“And for the gentleman of Louisiana, and the comfort that he felt in yelling at you like that,” AOC claimed, “there’s more than one way to get a point across.”
“And, frankly, men who treat women like that in public, I fear how they treat them in private,” she concluded. “We can be better than this. We don’t have to resort to yelling.”

Salter was asked by Higgins what she would do with the material items she has from petrochemical products.
It was at that point that Salter implored Higgins to “search your heart and understand why the EPA knows that toxic petrochemical facilities are some of the most toxic polluting facilities in the world and are killing black people throughout Louisiana.”
“My good lady, I’m trying to give you the floor, boo,” Higgins told Salter, who is also a law professor and member of the New York State Climate Action Council.
The two could be heard raising their voices during the hearing, which focused on the oil and gas companies’ contribution to climate change.
Again, Higgins was encouraged by Salter to search his heart and “ask your God what you are doing to the black and poor people in Louisiana.”
