Frontrunner

New GOP Front-Runner Looks Incredibly Promising!

Our politicians are being judged based on their responses to COVID19, some in different ways than others. A new frontrunner for the GOP Presidential nomination in 2024 has appeared in the form of a Governor who chose a very different path in managing the coronavirus. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida

CharlieKirk.com writes,

“Gov. DeSantis decided not to lock down like most other states or enforce a state-wide mask mandate. This decision allowed businesses in Florida to flourish and schools to stay open all the while having better results than states such as California and New York who have had some of the strictest lockdowns which resulted in the tanking of their economies.”

It’s not only Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA saying this either, support for the Florida Conservative Republican is coming in from all quarters. And if the Democrats are going to present Gov. Andrew “Under Investigation for Killing 15,000 Seniors” Cuomo of New York as their new ‘Chosen One’ frontrunner for 2024 or 28′ then that isn’t a high bar to beat.

Politico reports:

“Ron DeSantis is having a moment with conservatives,” said Josh Holmes, a top adviser to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. “Part of this is liberals tried to cast this in the yin-and-yang comparison with Cuomo … It’s policy and it’s partly stylistic, the way he handles the news media and his blue-collar appeal.

Early on in the pandemic, both Newsom and Cuomo won national praise for their handling of the pandemic while DeSantis was panned for his more economy-focused and laissez-faire approach — one closely aligned with Donald Trump’s response to the Covid-19 crisis. Now conservatives are relishing the contrast and holding up DeSantis as an example of effective governance.

Fox News Reported that despite his “laissez-faire approach” DeSantis has led Florida to lead the nation in rolling out vaccinations to senior citizens who are most at risk. This paints a stark contrast from NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo/ MI Gov. Gretchen Whitmer who have presided over massive senior citizen death tolls specifically in retirement and nursing homes.

Standing Up to Big Tech and Mainstream Media

Politico also pointed to another huge draw of conservatives’ attention to the Florida Governor. “But it’s the fight in DeSantis that has animated conservatives, said Holmes, pointing to a recent press conference DeSantis held to announce a proposal to crack down on Big Tech where, in accusing the news media of having double standards, he told a reporter at one point that “you can whiz on my leg but don’t tell me it’s raining.””

Gov. DeSantis told a Press conference,

“Today we look to change what’s acceptable in the sunshine state by shining a light on these practices and by empowering consumers to make decisions about if, how, and when their personal information is used,”

“The status quo has all been a one way street with Big Tech where they have all the power, they dictate all the rules, they take whatever data they want when they want and consumers get virtually nothing except the quote privilege of using their devices that they already pay for.”

Absolutely a Frontrunner, DeSantis’ Star Is On The Rise

Between keeping Florida businesses open, pushing back against CDC school re-opening guidelines he called “a disgrace” and opening his classrooms MONTHS before blue states’, using common sense and prioritizing senior citizens for vaccination and not basing distribution on racial “equity” Governor Ron DeSantis is capturing the imagination of Republicans who are still reeling from the dubious rise of the Biden/Harris regime. He’s presenting hope that strong leadership at the State level can counterbalance and protect Americans from the chaos taking hold of our federal government. A hope we dearly need as we work to restore sanity to Washington, D.C. in two years.
