Trump Takes a Bizarre Swipe at Another Popular Republican Governor

Apparently Trump was not done and had more to say following his unprovoked attack on Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

In a bizarre twist of events, Trump pivoted and took aim at popular Republican governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia.

With both incidents, Trump has claimed credit for the success of his targets…although the attack on Youngskin was very odd in that the former President makes a derogatory comment about his name.

Donald Trump posted on Truth Social saying:

“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him – or he couldn’t have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia – But he’ll get it done!”

It is accurate to say that Trump supported both DeSantis and Youngkin in their runs for governor, however neither has indicated any intention to run for president in 2024.

It could be speculated that Trump took aim at Youngkin after his lieutenant governor announced she would not be supporting Trump in a 2024 bid.

Winsome Sears previously stated:

“A true leader understands when they have become a liability. A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage. And the voters have given us that very clear message.”

Thus far, it appears Youngkin is following in DeSantis’ footsteps by choosing to not engage Trump after the comments he’s made.
