Shop NowThe reporter that got us all in trouble over the reporting of the bombing of Poland has been terminated.
James LaPorta, an award-winning reporter for the AP, got the boot.
This happened after the Associated Press was forced to issue a massive correction to his report regarding the bombing.
Bad Information
LaPorta’s report literally could have started WWIII.
On November 15, Russia launched a massive barrage of missiles into Ukraine.
Initially, LaPorta reported that one of those missiles landed in Poland, killing two people.
The report stated, “A senior U.S. intelligence official says Russian missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people.”
CNN piled on, then just about every mainstream and alt-news media outlet, reported the same…
RUSSIAN MISSILE STRIKE: Two Russian missiles crossed over the Ukrainian border into Poland, a NATO country, killing two civilians. Ukraine’s president says the world “must act” and the head of NATO called for an emergency meeting for tomorrow morning. pic.twitter.com/VeR8sWjEqF

Then Zelensky took the opportunity to try to draw NATO into the conflict….
Zelensky: “Terror is not limited to our national borders. Russian missiles hit Poland. … To fire missiles at NATO territory. This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a very significant escalation. We must act.” pic.twitter.com/0T85fpEqLS

When it was investigated, the errant missile was actually from the air defense system that Ukraine used to defend itself against the attacks.
AP eventually corrected the story, posting, “In earlier versions of a story published November 15, 2022, The Associated Press reported erroneously, based on information from a senior American intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity, that Russian missiles had crossed into Poland and killed two people.
“Subsequent reporting showed that the missiles were Russian-made and most likely fired by Ukraine in defense against a Russian attack.”
And now LaPorta is out of a job simply because he wanted to be first instead of right, a disease that is permeating the media these days.
