Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) has announced that the state is suing the Trump administration to overturn President Donald Trump’s order to keep men out of women’s sports, with Ellison claiming that the administration is “bullying” a “small group of vulnerable children.” The Trump administration has already fired back with a strong condemnation of the Democrats’ refusal to protect women and girls.

Ellison announced the lawsuit on April 22, stating that he would not wait for the Trump administration to sue Minnesota and would rather launch the lawsuit himself. He has already received notice from the Department of Justice (DOJ) threatening legal action if Minnesota does not adhere to Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order.

The Minnesota attorney general is demanding that the court continue to allow males claiming to be “transgender” to compete in female sports within the state, despite the fact that these males have clear biological advantages over females.

“I’m not going to sit around waiting for the Trump administration to sue Minnesota. Today, Minnesota is suing him and his administration because we will not participate in this shameful bullying,” Ellison claimed. “We will not let a small group of vulnerable children who are only trying be healthy and live their lives be demonized.”

Of course, this is a blatant lie, as the Trump administration is not trying to ‘bully’ or ‘demonize’ children who have been coerced and tricked into believing that they are the opposite sex — they are just trying to protect women and girls.

Ellison filed the lawsuit against the Trump administration in the U.S. District Court in Minneapolis, claiming that the federal government has no authority over gender eligibility policies for state-level athletic programs via executive orders.

Meanwhile, the White House has already issued a fiery statement in response to Minnesota’s lawsuit.

“Why would a grown man sue the Trump administration to allow other biological males to participate in women’s sports? This is creepy and anti-woman,” said White House spokesman Harrison Fields.

An X account called the “MN Republicans Northland Edition” also responded to the news, highlighting a clip from CNN discussing a poll that showed a whopping 79% of Americans oppose allowing males to compete in female sports.

“Minnesota AG Keith Ellison is spending your taxpayer money to fund a lawsuit that will allow boys in girls sports. 79% of Americans oppose this,” the post read.

While this lawsuit makes Minnesota the first state to sue the Trump administration over this issue, the administration has already filed a lawsuit against Maine over the same issue — and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi previously stated that Minnesota and California could be next.

“We’re looking at Minnesota. We’re looking at California. We’re looking at many, many states but they are the top two that should be on notice because we’ve been communicating with them,” Bondi explained.
