The big word around Washington is “efficiency.” President Donald Trump is insisting on it and Democrats are screaming in horror. Calling the panel Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy were appointed to a “department,” just so it can have the DOGE acronym, has Democrats in meltdown mode. They’ve been complaining loudly that DOGE won’t have any legal teeth. That’s where Marjorie Taylor Greene fits in. She’s getting a House Sub-Committee of her very own to slash waste and fraud from government. All progressives can say is: “Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!”
An efficiency sub-committee
The Department of Government Efficiency will have an official sister sub-committee in the House. It was announced on Thursday, November 21, that “Representative James Comer of Kentucky, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, is planning to create a new subcommittee.”
It will be headed by far-right Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene. The sound of Democrat heads exploding can be heard all over Capitol Hill.
As soon as Democrats had the chance, back in 2021, they stripped the vocal conservative of her two committee assignments. This time she won’t just sit at the table, she’ll be chairwoman. On a panel devoted to government efficiency. “Ms. Greene is poised to hold a gavel.” Democrats see it as more of an assault hammer.
That’s only possible because of “the ascendancy of the MAGA wing of the GOP in Congress, where President-elect Donald J. Trump’s most loyal allies will occupy prominent posts.”
Greene and her sub-committee will closely “partner with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to eliminate government waste.” Leading Republicans have already expressed their approval of MTG serving as its chair.
The word “efficiency” gives progressives nightmares. Putting Greene in charge of “investigating waste and corruption within the federal government” leaves them stunned speechless.
A done deal
Democrats can howl, scream and sulk all they want but there’s nothing they can do about it. Thousands of freeloading federal workers are about to be eliminated in the name of efficiency.
New York Times points out that “even though she is not yet the chairwoman of a committee that does not yet exist, Ms. Greene’s new position appeared to be a done deal, with top Republicans confirming it would be hers to lead when the new Congress convenes in January.”
When Ms. Greene got the word, she issued a statement. “I’m excited to chair this new subcommittee designed to work hand in hand with President Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy and the entire DOGE team.” Let the efficiency purge begin!
“We will identify and investigate the waste, corruption and absolutely useless parts of our federal government.” Anything that Democrats put in place is a likely candidate for the chopping block.
Vivek Ramaswamy quickly confirmed that he was “looking forward” to working with Ms. Greene and Congress. “Proper oversight of agencies & public transparency are critical,” the DOGE co-chair wrote.
After freaking out progressives with “sexually explicit images of Hunter Biden” in a House hearing, Greene mentioned on Thursday that “the same no-holds-barred style would guide her work on the new subcommittee.” She adds a bold promise. “No topic will be off the table.” Efficiency is going to be a major priority of the Trump administration.
