School Singles Out 3rd Grader for Wearing Her ‘Jesus Loves Me’ Mask…Robbing Her Constitutional Rights

American Christians are facing unprecedented discrimination and recently a young girl was forced to remove her “Jesus Loves Me” face mask while in school.

School Discriminates Against Christian Girl

The parents of the third-grader have filed a suit in federal court in order to fight for her constitutional rights as an American.

Simpson County elementary school ordered the little girl to take off her mask because it mentioned Jesus.

Attorneys are saying the district purposely discriminated and singled out the student which in turn robbed her of her constitutional rights.

Back in October, 9-year-old Lydia Booth wore a “Jesus Loves Me” face mask to Simpson Central Elementary School in Pinola, Mississippi according to Valley News Live.

Her parents, Matthew and Jennifer Booth, told the story of how their young daughter was discriminated against.

Jesus Isn’t Allowed in School

They said that the principal made Lydia take off her mask and gave her a mask that had no words on it. He then told the girl that her “Jesus Loves Me” mask was against district policy.

According to the Booths, the policy was changed to prohibiting messages only after Lydia wore her mask to school.

The girl is being represented by a powerhouse of freedom fighters. The Alliance Defending Freedom is representing the schoolgirl in a federal lawsuit against the Simpson County School District.

“When the school is discriminating against individuals who want to wear masks expressing religious beliefs but are allowing students and faculty to wear masks expressing messages with other beliefs, that’s not allowed by the First Amendment,” said Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer.

Alliance Defending Freedom Takes the Case

As of Monday, the lawsuit has been filed by the Alliance Defending Freedom.

According to Lydia’s parents, she is having a hard time dealing with the unfortunate situation.

“She’s told her parents she wants to be a missionary, and that’s why she wants to wear this mask,” Langhofer said. “It made her really sad when she was forced to remove this mask because the message means something to her, and it’s her choice to wear it.”
