Donald Trump has already started naming prospective candidates to replace various Biden era officials. Marco Rubio is being recommended to take over from Antony Blinken as Secretary of State. Another popular announcement floats South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to assume control of Homeland Security. Alejandro Mayorkas will be shoved aside as fast as the Senate can fast track an approval. Maybe even before the official transfer of power in January.
Replace them all
Donald Trump plans to replace as many Biden era officials as he can, as fast as he can. The Deplorable-in-Chief made it crystal clear that the purge of Democrat officials will be swift and relentless. Since Obama, the Senate has made a policy of not approving cabinet members during the legislative recess. Not this time.
The upper chamber is now controlled by Republicans. All three of the leading candidates to take the role of Senate Majority Leader have promised to stand behind recess appointments. They each recognize exactly how important it is that Trump’s cabinet gets straight to work.
Illinois lawmaker Adam Kinzinger doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with Trump but he does this time. He praised the idea of Rubio as chief diplomat. Blinky Blinken should be easy to replace. Kinzinger notes Rubio’s “somebody that understands foreign policy. And that’s going to be important.”
The Hill went to get his opinion because Kinzinger dared to vote for impeachment of Trump during his first term. He surprised them by acknowledging that Rubio’s a great choice. “So as far as picks go, I think compared to some of the other names that were floating around, people who really don’t have any experience in foreign policy, I think this is a pretty good one.”
Democrats are rattled because Rubio won’t be pestering Israel into easing up against Hamas. The Florida Senator “has been seen as a foreign policy hawk, primarily on Iran and China.” He’s likely to be heard joining Trump in a rousing chorus of “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran…”
The Ayatollah won’t be getting any pallets of cash from Rubio, that’s for sure. While he’s coming up with excellent choices, Trump needs to be careful not to replace away the slim majorities.
Appreciates the math
Donald Trump has assured House and Senate leadership that he really does “appreciate” the math. Remarkably, Republicans have captured the majority in both chambers. The edge isn’t much. The final numbers aren’t in yet but we’re looking at a two or three seat advantage in the Senate.
The House will stay just as tight. Trump’s pulling Rubio out of the Senate and he’s also tapping New York lawmaker Elise Stefanik as ambassador to the U.N. and Florida’s Mike Waltz as a national security adviser. He promises to hold off on more of those until another Republican can replace each of the ones he drafted.
Two of his most popular picks are immigration related. Trump loyalist and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will replace Alejandro Mayorkas. The sooner the better.
He’s done more than Biden to singlehandedly compromise America’s domestic security.
Another pick which makes conservatives ecstatic is the appointment of Tom Homan as Border Czar. He’ll do a much better job than the one he’ll replace.
That would be Kamala Harris. She never managed to even visit the border until a month before the election. When she did, she wore designer jewelry and a runway fashion model quality bulletproof jacket. In triple digit heat.
