Since Joe Biden won’t lift a finger to secure our southern border, congress is doing it for him. Republicans aim to deliver on a promise they made “to America last year to secure our borders and protect our communities.” On Sunday, April 23, the House Committee on Homeland Security announced plans to deliver on that promise.

Commonsense border security

What the committee is proposing doesn’t amount to rocket science. They have a commonsense set of solutions to secure the border quickly and effectively. “Today, we are delivering on our promise by introducing commonsense border-security legislation.

They crafted their bill “with the insight of those on this crisis’ precipice.” That’s why they talked to a whole herd of BPD agents, “their families, business owners, state and local law enforcement and ranchers.

Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas have a sneaky plot to simply let anyone wander in who wants to, then give them amnesty along with all the illegals already here. They simply ignore the nation’s laws and do as they please. At least, they did. A federal ruling out of Florida paved the way for impeachment of Mayorkas.

He’s clearly been derelict in his duty to the point of sabotaging our national security. The border has become nothing but “a meaningless line in the sand” and little more than a “speedbump” the judge wrote. According to Congress, Biden has “abandoned our agents and sent the message that the laws concerning our sovereign borders are merely suggestions.” They have a simple solution.

This legislation, the committee notes, “focuses on the crux of the crisis.” That would be “the lawlessness and lack of resources between ports of entry.” The Border Reinforcement Act, formally introduced Monday, “requires the DHS secretary,” meaning Mayorkas, “to resume construction” on Trump’s “big beautiful” wall, “with no fewer than 900 miles of it” closed tight until “operational control is achieved.

Operational control means stopping the flood of drugs and illegal migrants completely. Mayorkas insists he’s already done that, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Achieve ‘operational control’

Mayorkas continues to hallucinate that our border is secure even though “80 individuals on the terrorist watchlist have been stopped attempting to cross into America between southwest ports of entry since October 2022.” Nobody is sure how many more got through undetected.

Not only that, CBP agents “seized enough fentanyl to kill nearly 2.5 billion people.” That’s a tiny fraction of what made it onto the streets of San Francisco. Officials estimate they catch somewhere between “5% to 10% of illegal drugs smuggled across.” That’s not much.

The committee was relentless in their formal statement. When “Joe Biden and Mayorkas requested funding for ‘border management‘ instead of ‘border security,‘ they made clear they have no intention of securing our borders or restoring law and order.

Along with plugging the holes in the wall, Raul Ortiz testified “he needs 3,000 more agents.” He’ll get them. “Far too many agents are stretched to the limit physically and mentally amid this crisis, and many have been pulled from their law-enforcement duties to assist with processing illegal aliens.” That’s not good.

This creates a security gap of which criminals and cartels happily take advantage.” Along with hiring as many agents as they can get their hands on, probably by recruiting disgruntled and defunded law enforcement officers from Democrat run cities, they will address attrition “by establishing a retention bonus for qualifying front-line personnel.” They also are about to boost technology.

The act calls for “a technology-investment plan and upgrade existing technology to ensure CBP officers and Border Patrol agents are equipped with the necessary resources to remain safe in the field.” It seems that Mayorkas hijacked one of their tools and they’re getting it back. CBP One will no longer be used to “incentivize more illegal immigration.” It was originally meant to “facilitate the movement of perishable cargo into America quickly, but the Biden administration is using it as a tool to allow illegal aliens to schedule appointments at ports of entry and be expeditiously released into the country’s interior.” Not for much longer.
