Republican Murdered in Cold Blood Over Political Stance

In McHenry, North Dakota, 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson was ran over by 41-year-old Shannon Brandt following a political dispute.

Brandt was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.

News broke that Brandt has admitted his actions were politically motivated.

InForum reported that Ellingson had noticed Brandt was following him one late night after participating in a street dance.

By the time Ellingson attempted to call his mother for help, it was too late, as Brandt hit the teen with his car in an alleyway.

Brandt himself called police to report the incident, claiming that Ellingson was part of a “Republican extremist group,” and was ordered to come after him.

Police revealed that Brandt had been drunk at the time of the incident, however not much more is known about what occurred.

North Dakota Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind shared, “We do not know of any witnesses. We are still making attempts to interview potential witnesses from the street dance, people that were present prior to the crash happening.”

At this time, Brandt is facing anywhere between ten to twenty years in prison, however his sentence could be longer if he is handed more serious charges.

A family friend of the Ellingsons sent up a GoFundMe page to help pay for the cost of funeral expenses for Cayler, which has raised over $4,000 so far.

“Cayler has went to heaven and will be missed by his Mom, Dad, Brother, Uncles, Aunts, cousins many Family and Friends,” the statement reads.
