Sheriff ARRESTED After Illegally Selling…

Deputy Sheriff, Samir Ahmad was arrested in Philadelphia by Federal Agents Oct. 19 after they recorded Ahmad accepting $3,000 in cash for the sale of two guns that were used in the Roxborough High School shooting.

Steve Kelley at Fox 29 WTXF-TV broke the story Thursday, writing, “Federal officials allege Samir Ahmad, 29, was charged after selling two handguns to a confidential informant on Oct. 13, while he was employed as a Deputy Sheriff in Philadelphia.”

Court documents cited by WTXF revealed that both of the firearms sold in the transaction were traced by law enforcement and were used in the Sept. 27 school shooting that killed a 14-year-old and wounded four students.

The confidential informant reportedly told Ahmad that he was in the U.S. illegally and would be deported if he were caught with a gun. The criminal complaint states that Ahmad told the informant “You don’t got to worry about none of that.”

The Philadelphia Sherriff Office tweeted an official statement that said, “On October 19, 2022, he (Ahmad) was served with a 30 day notice of intent to dismiss for repeated violations of the Philadelphia Sheriff Office directives, policies and procedures.”

The investigation into Ahmad is ongoing according to WTXF.

U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero told reporters, “As alleged, Samir Ahmad abused his authority – to the greatest extent possible – as a sworn law enforcement officer. The defendant was allegedly illegally selling firearms on the street to at least one person who was not permitted to possess them, adding fuel to the already-incendiary fire of deadly gun violence in the City of Philadelphia. Working with our law enforcement partners, we are doing all that we can to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the violence.”
