There’s too much crime around the White House neighborhood. If Mayor Muriel Bowser doesn’t get it under control quick, President Donald Trump will personally take charge of the police force. He’s all set to have the federal government run the District of Columbia since Bower’s “not doing the job.”
It’s a crime
The way Mayor Muriel Bowser runs D.C. is a crime. For some reason Democrats prefer to turn a blind eye to everything from shoplifting to murder.
Since most criminals are minorities, enforcing the laws is considered racist. President Trump made it crystal clear on the campaign trail he’s not going to put up with it.
Axios is having a hard time reporting the story and still slanting it in favor of violent anarchy. Trump “exaggerated claims,” they write “of graffitied streets, rampant crime and urban mismanagement.”
To them, gang tags are ethnic handicraft artwork every bit as valuable as an original Hunter Biden masterpiece.
Mayhem isn’t rampant, they scoff. Except for the carjackings. Those, they admit are out of control.
“While there were still more homicides and carjackings last year than in 2019, the city had steep declines in violent crime.” Murder apparently isn’t considered violent.

Company coming
The city has a great police department but, Trump declares, it’s “not utilized properly.” He’s got Vladimir Putin coming for peace talks. Xi Jinping may be a guest of the White House soon.
He doesn’t want the Pooh Bear getting mugged while he’s here. D.C. has “too much crime,” and “too many tents on the lawns.” Trump was taking “a swipe at homeless encampments, some of which are already under federal control on National Park Service land.”
“French President Emmanuel Macron, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and China’s leader Xi Jinping can’t visit D.C.” and “have tents all over your beautiful, your once magnificent houses and lawns,” Trump scolds.

The city has been allowed to manage itself for the past 50 years. That privilege could be revoked soon if crime isn’t stomped out cold, real fast.
Trump has full sway over Congress so getting the city back under federal control could happen. Republicans in both the House and Senate are tripping over themselves to please the president with legislation.
Trump doesn’t need to get that drastic simply to get a handle on crime. It would be a whole lot easier for him to “seize control of the Metropolitan Police Department.” That only takes a stroke of his pen.
