The seat in the Senate currently held by Senator Sinema (I-AZ) is up for grabs in the upcoming election.
I thought this would be an easy win for the GOP, but that is hardly the case.
Polling is HORRIBLE
This seat was a dream scenario for the GOP.
We have an independent candidate that caucuses with the Democrats as well as a Democrat challenger. One would think that would split the vote, handing the election to the Republicans.
Yet, in the latest polling, Kari Lake, a Trump-endorsed candidate, is actually trailing in polling.
The latest poll has Democrat candidate Gallego leading at 34 points, Sinema in second at 26, and Lake in third at 25, with 15 percent of the vote still undecided.
This is, to put it mildly, a disaster.
We all assumed that virtually any Republican candidate would have walked away with this election, but the people of Arizona clearly do not like Lake.
If polling continues to stay in this range, we are going to need another candidate to step up and primary Lake to ensure we take this seat.
In a three-way election that is stacked up against the Democrats, there is just no way we can allow them to keep this seat in the Senate.
Honestly, I had already penciled this seat in as red for 2024, but it would appear as though I have jumped the gun considerably.
