Intelligence Warns of ‘Foreign’ Election Infrastructure Attacks

Our “foreign adversaries” have been “scanning election infrastructure,” DNI Avril Haines warned on Monday. The Iranians are at the top of the list, along with China and the perennial Russians. We’re only 100 days out from a close and hotly contested ballot choice for Americans. Having enemy hackers sniffing around for back doors into the equipment isn’t good. Especially with the incompetent and corrupt Biden regime in charge of security. Along with trying to hack the equipment, they’re behind social media campaigns to engineer our public opinion to favor their own interests.

Election insecurity

Far right conservatives are loudly complaining that the Biden regimen is already planning to steal the election and blame it on the Russians. If not the Russians, then Iran or China.

Anyone that takes attention away from their own alleged meddling. The office of Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines admits that someone is meddling.

There’s no dispute that federal officials “are on edge about foreign forces looking to exploit the political process to their advantage.” The spooks are spooked. The good news is they “haven’t seen any efforts by foreign actors to conduct what we consider election interference.

That means the total prevention of one. The bad news is that there definitely are “efforts to scan networks” related to the overall voting infrastructure.

Intelligence officials aren’t really willing to divulge details and aren’t ready to point any fingers. Some say that allows them to dabble in a little domestic election interference of their own. With all the prior attacks, We the People say the feds should have been a lot more prepared.

“Such scanning is not new. The FBI spotted an unknown actor in June 2016.” That one was trying to break into a state elections board.

Our foreign adversaries have been scanning election infrastructure.

private-sector marketing

When the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence came out with a report in 2018 on “Russian active measures,” they recommended “search activity logs.” Today, “adversaries such as China and Russia are turning to private-sector marketing and public relations firms to do their dirty work.

That way, their fingerprints aren’t on the election records. “The firms can typically move more nimbly and with fewer bureaucratic hurdles than their government counterparts.

The DNI knows for a fact that “Moscow is leveraging Russia-based influence-for-hire firms to shape public opinion in the United States, including with election-related operations.” They do it through “influence platforms” which “directly and discreetly engaged Americans.

Election interference works great as an ad campaign, thanks to “improved tools to tailor content for U.S. audiences.” China also uses a “technology company” to target local audiences in America.

The Ayatollah has an in-house unit. They used their uranium centrifuges to spin up “influence” over the U.S. election. Their hackers have “vast webs of online personas and propaganda mills.” You can see them in action every day spreading “disinformation” to “exacerbate tension over the Israel-Gaza conflict.

They love America’s “useful idiots” pre-indoctrinated by liberal brainwashing and dumbed down to functional illiteracy. “Foreign actors continue to rely on witting and unwitting Americans to seed, promote and add credibility to narratives that serve the foreign actors’ interests.
