The host nation, Azerbaijan, used their position on the panel to do a whole bunch of insider trading. The part that totally shattered disillusioned Democrats is the fact they’re wheeling and dealing deadly carbon rich oil and natural gas. They’ve been demonizing Donald Trump for bailing out of the Paris Climate Accord, so he can tap into America’s fossil fuel reserve. Worse, he actually wants to refine and use it. If he keeps that up, gas and heat prices will actually become affordable again. How horrible, progressives gasp.
COP29 a big hoax
The phrase of the day at COP29 on Wednesday, November 12, is “quid pro quo.” Something for something.
Under the cover of green environmentalism, the summit’s host country, Azerbaijan, used their position as a member of the group to peddle huge amounts of oil and natural gas. They’re all set to be exclusive supplier to most of Europe.
Everyone slams Donald Trump as some sort of Eco-terrorist for advocating that we actually use the oil and natural gas under our own feet, before we by a drop of the stuff from radical Arabs at inflated prices, then pay to have it transported here. Risking oil leaks and piracy along the way.
COP29 represents the exact opposite of that philosophy. They want to eliminate the use of fossil fuels entirely, no matter how much it costs to develop alternatives. They also conveniently like to forget the part about not having any viable alternatives at all, in reality.
The greenies have all sorts of zero carbon emission schemes to generate “clean” energy. The only problem is the ones which work at all aren’t nearly efficient enough to be cost effective. Some technologies show promise but none are ready to replace the good old fashioned standards.
There are ways to improve efficiency and eliminate waste byproducts without totally abandoning hydrocarbons. COP29 delegates normally won’t even consider that as a serious alternative. They demand total compliance with their zero carbon goals. All except for the nation hosting the conference.

The petrostate playbook
Using the COP29 conference “as a venue to facilitate oil and gas deals,” global activists declare, “is part of the emerging petrostate playbook which sees COP as just another global business conference, an opportunity to drum up investment in your oil and gas sector.”
Who would have imagined that even possible? Now, the watchdogs snarl, “contracts are being drawn up. There’s still been no mention of any climate requirements, pledges or net-zero plans.” Those are all nothing but showy illusions.
The agreement allegedly requires the sponsor to commit to “actively support” Azerbaijan’s National Pledge and occasionally provide “sustainability reports.”
Nobody knows what that’s really supposed to mean because “details are scant.” COP29 “was poised to declare EC Capital as an official sponsor.” What they really are is “Investment Partner.”
Globalists at the World Economic Forum aren’t that alarmed. “Some might ask, who cares? If the oil industry doesn’t do deals at COP, they’ll do them somewhere else.”
COP29 isn’t any sacred shrine of green compliance. Not when an oil producing nation can use their sponsorship of the conference to gain access to a market for their fossil fuel stockpiles.
