A mega donor who has given out big bucks to the GOP is now backing a Democrat lawmaker who wants to fight Joe Biden’s agenda.
Fundraiser for Moderate Democrat
Ken Langone is a billionaire who Republicans thought was on their side until he held a fundraiser for a Democrat.
Senator Joe Manchin appears to be a moderate Democrat because he is supposedly opposed to some things in Biden’s radical agenda.
In some parts of Biden’s extremist $1.8 trillion spending spree for social and climate-related things, Manchin disagrees with some areas. He specifically has stood against raiding the corporate tax rate higher than 25%.
The Democrat senator from West Virginia blocked certain aspects of Biden’s trillion-dollar agenda.
Mega Donor Hails Going Against the Grain
Manchin is up for reelection in 2024 and billionaire donor Langone called him out for his “guts and courage.”
“I don’t see leadership any place in this country. Thank God for Joe Manchin,” Langone said. “I’m going to have one of the biggest fundraisers I’ve ever had for him. He’s special. He’s precious. He’s a great American.”
Manchin has been outspoken about the ever-growing inflation issue and the hardships Americans are facing at the hand of the Biden administration.

The Democrat senator is a millionaire and made most of his fortune from the coal industry which explains why he is so against the clean energy provisions in Biden’s spending plan.
Big Legislation Planned
The huge controversial legislation is going to be voted on soon so Democrats are panicking over potentially losing Manchin’s vote. Right now in the Senate, Democrats barely hold the majority so losing just one Democrat vote could be in Republicans’ favor.
At this point, some Republicans are giving Langone a pass for being a doner to this particular Democrat.
