In terms of a general election, we always know that we are going to get our butts handed to us in California.
However, there were still enough small pockets of conservatives in the state to give the GOP much-needed seats in local and federal elections.
If a recent study is accurate, and there is no reason to believe that it is not, the pickings in California will be slimmer than usual in the future.
Deep Blue to Deeper Blue
It may be time to kiss California goodbye.
The state is now ranked 4th strongest for liberals in state governing.
Not only that, but far too many of the Republicans that are in office are voting with Democrats more than 20 percent of the time.
The recent study by CLA, a project of CPA and the American Conservation Union Foundation, found that only about two-thirds of elected Republicans were voting with their side of the aisle more than 80 percent of the time.
In terms of all states in the country, the only states that were more Democrat-oriented were Rhode Island (20), Hawaii (19), and Massachusetts (15).
That little number to the right of the state signifies its percentage of a conservative-oriented vote, and California only came in at 24 percent.
And here I thought we may have been making inroads in the state after a few blue seats flipped in Congress in 2022.
From the looks of that study, they will be going back to blue soon enough.
