Now here’s something you don’t see everyday.
Residents of a small California town were in for a shock when suspicious packages parachuted into their neighborhood.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was called on the scene to investigate, and soon determined that no danger existed; the mystery packages simply contained vials from a school weather project.

The scene began around 8 o’clock at night when two taped-up packages, attached to a red and yellow balloon, descended onto the street.
Quickly thereafter, residents noticed the strange objects and alerted authorities causing them to take action.
The bomb squad arrived on site shortly afterwards, determining that no threat was present but unable to trace where it had come from.
The community of San Dimas was relieved once it became apparent that the mysterious packages did not contain any malicious or dangerous substances.
Rather, they were harmless items used as part of an educational experiment conducted by students within their local school district.
Deputies evacuated nearby homes as precautionary measures until all concerns were addressed and taken care of.
What could have been a very serious situation turned out to be nothing more than an experiment gone wrong.
Although this event caused some panic among citizens, thankfully there was no real cause for alarm.
