Doctors Ordered to Just Let People with Disabilities Die

Some of the most disturbing news developments regarding the COVID19 virus have come from the nation of its origin: China. Many more have come from the European Union where anti-lockdown protestors were met with heavy force and citizens were threatened with “re-education centers“. But with little notice of the mainstream media and the blithe, tacit acceptance of leftists on both sides of the Atlantic, some of the most disturbing reports have come from Great Britain. Multiple sources have reported that in the UK, National Health Service many facilities housing people with mental disabilities horrifyingly issued blanket “Do Not Resuscitate” orders.

According to the Christian Post,

“During the first wave of the pandemic in Great Britain, various facilities that care for people with intellectual disabilities, what the Brits call “learning disabilities,” issued blanket “Do Not Resuscitate” orders. These orders came, according to one source, directly from doctors, without consulting the patients or their families.”

British Newspaper The Guardian has reported that in the UK,

“NHS figures released last week show that in the five weeks since the third lockdown began, Covid-19 accounted for 65% of deaths of people with learning disabilities. Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that the rate for the general population was 39%, although the two statistics are drawn from different measurements. Younger people with learning disabilities aged 18 to 34 are 30 times more likely to die of Covid than others the same age, according to Public Health England.”

The NHS’ Logic for Disabilities? They Abort 90% of Down Syndrome Babies

While the Guardian correctly reflected the furious outcry this has created in the United Kingdom, it was John Stonestreet and Roberto Rivera, who drew the truly disturbing, cultural connective through-line from what is acceptable in the far more leftist mainstream British culture to the tragedy befalling the victims of this policy. Their article originally printed in Breakpoint read,

“Why single out people with intellectual disabilities? The immediate answer is obvious. The doctors issuing these orders are eugenicists, willing to eliminate patients who, they think, drain resources. The larger answer is also obvious. Embedded in Western culture is a tendency to commodify human life, valuing people based on extrinsic abilities and appearances. Thus, the disabled are not deemed as valuable as the non-disabled.

In the U.K., this thinking is obvious in other ways, too. For example, a positive Down syndrome in utero test results in an abortion 90 percent of the time.” This is akin to Iceland and France where 100% and 77% of all Down syndrome positive tested babies are aborted. This led to the now infamous 2017 CBS tweet that declared “Iceland is on pace to virtually eliminate Down syndrome through abortion.”
