The past 15 months have been pretty rough for the Cuomo Brothers. The former Governor and CNN host have had some major ups and down’s since their post-pandemic fall from grace.
The disgraced former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo was forced to resign in August 2021. This was after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment during his reign as NY States Governor. Chris, a.k.a. “Fredo,” the former CNN host, was also accused of sexual harassment the following month. It was revealed by the New York attorney general’s office that Chris Cuomo offered to share information that could discredit one of his brother’s accusers. CNN fired him in December.
Since his fall from grace and total discrediting of himself as a serious news anchor, Chris Cuomo has gotten his own show on NewsNation. According to reports, the ratings are very low. Meanwhile, Andrew Cuomo has been completely out of the public eye, hiding “in shame” while “spending all his time trying to come back” to public life. According to a New Yorker puff piece suggests that the elder Cuomo Brother is planning his comeback.
The leftist former governor has become a self-proclaimed “vodcaster like … Joe Rogan.” The first episode of his video podcast, As a Matter of Fact… With Andrew Cuomo, aired Oct. 20 on Quake Media. The media outlet is a subscription service that also produces shows by Laura Ingraham, Mike Huckabee, and Pete Rose. Anthony Scaramucci, who happened to serve for 10 days as Donald Trump’s communications director in 2017, was the featured guest for the October show. They both agreed that Cuomo was a “victim of the woke radical left” and “cancel culture.”
On Cuomo’s new video podcast, the aim is to apparently foster a “political dialogue” that isn’t “dominated … by the extremes.” The New Yorker reported on Cuomo’s vanity as he discussed a new promo video with the studio manager, who agreed to “put the nose filter on.” This was after the former governor complained about how big his nose looked on camera. It was also said that Andrew bragged about losing 20 pounds since his resignation.
Cuomo’s self-absorption continued as he congratulated himself on winning an Emmy for his COVID-19 briefings in 2020. However, the award was rescinded the following year. “Didn’t we win an Emmy?” he asked an aide. “Where is that Emmy? I remember seeing the statue!”
The former governor’s show got weird as he wandered the streets of Manhattan. On the stream, he was recognized by a woman “smoking what appeared to be a crack pipe” in a doorway. “I loved when you were governor,” she said.
