Remember the story about the 8-year-old little girl that died?
Well, it turns out that this death could have possibly been prevented.
Not Following Protocols
There is a huge problem that we have noted before when so many migrants are coming across the border.
The problem being that the vetting process is rushed, which would include checking medical records.
In the case of this particular girl, it would appear that Customs and Border Protection agents did not check her records.
Had they done that, they would have known the girl had a chronic heart condition.
When the girl contracted the flu, she was given “typical” treatments which did not take her condition into account.
The internal investigation revealed, “Despite the girl’s condition, her mother’s concerns, and the series of treatments required to manage her condition, contracted medical personnel did not transfer her to a hospital for higher-level care.”
The mother has repeatedly requested the girl be taken to a hospital by ambulance, all of which were denied by the nurse practitioner on duty.
Not long after the fourth visit with the nurse practitioner, the mother returned with her daughter, who was having an apparent seizure, then became unresponsive.
The child was transported to a medical center and was pronounced dead 40 minutes later.
According to the investigation, none of the medical officials that interacted with the girl were aware of her medical condition.
Troy Miller, CBP’s acting commissioner, stated, “The recent in-custody death of an 8-year-old child in our custody in Harlingen, Texas was a deeply upsetting and unacceptable tragedy. We can – and we will – do better to ensure this never happens again.”
I just want to know one thing… where is the outrage that we would have seen had this happened during the Trump administration?
Democrats would have wanted Trump to be tried for murder, but now they are all sitting on their hands.
As I have said before, lives only matter to congressional Democrats when the person in the White House is a Republican.
