Libertarian Candidate and priority target of American law enforcement for decades: the founder of the Antivirus giant, John McAfee is dead. According to Spanish authorities, McAfee was found dead, hanging in his cell in a Barcelona prison where he awaited extradition to the United States, and still frequently tweeted to his over 1 Million followers. It’s a frighteningly familiar situation, that bears an enormous similarity to the mysterious death of Jeffrey Epstein.
According to ZeroHedge,
“The 75-year-old entrepreneur was arrested on tax evasion charges for failing to file tax returns for four years. He has been in jail in Spain since Oct. 6, facing charges that he hid significant assets which included real estate and a yacht. His defense lawyers had argued that the extradition request was politically motivated and therefore wasn’t appropriate. He disagreed with the current monetary system, which has made him “public enemy No. 1,” according to court documents released on Wednesday.”
US Court Documents have shown that the IRS alleged McAfee owed more than $4.2 million to the government. The SEC also accused the entrepreneur of hiding more than $23 million in cryptocurrency gains with US Attorney for Manhattan Audrey Straus claiming that he “exploited a widely used social media platform and enthusiasm among investors in the emerging cryptocurrency market to make millions through lies and deception.”
Just as recently as June 16th McAfee refuted that notion soundly tweeting “The US believes I have hidden crypto. I wish I did but it has dissolved through the many hands of Team McAfee (your belief is not required), and my remaining assets are all seized. My friends evaporated through fear of association. I have nothing. Yet, I regret nothing.”
The Libertarian Candidate Saw It Coming– He Warned Us
His last tweet was dated June 18th and carried with a tone of warning.
In a democracy, power is given not taken.
But it is still power.
Love, compassion, caring have no use for it. But it is fuel for greed, hostility, jealousy…
All power corrupts.
Take care which powers you allow a democracy to wield.

Notably, the vocal critic of the US Government and authoritarianism in all its’ formed issued multiple tweets that show he felt his “suicide” at the hands of nefarious government or business entities was likely.
Getting subtle messages from U.S. officials saying, in effect: "We're coming for you McAfee! We're going to kill yourself". I got a tattoo today just in case. If I suicide myself, I didn't. I was whackd. Check my right arm.$WHACKD available only on https://t.co/HdSEYi9krq🙂 pic.twitter.com/rJ0Vi2Hpjj

Even following his imprisonment, McAfee took deliberate measures to state that he was in good spirits and that he had absolutely no intention of ever taking his own life.
I am content in here. I have friends.
The food is good. All is well.
Know that if I hang myself, a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine.

McAfee’s Highly Suspicious Death Is “Under Investigation”
Despite the mainstream media and US Dept. of Justice’s tacit acceptance of the “suicide” explanation, CNN business reported that “a spokeswoman for the Superior Court of Catalonia told CNN. She said the cause of death is under investigation.”
According to the Associated Press, before the three-Judge panel in Catalonia that ordered his extradition, John McAfee ardently argued that the charges against him were “politically motivated”. While many point to his likely despair at potentially spending the rest of his life in prison, interestingly he had not yet exhausted all legal avenues, as the AP explains,
“Spain’s National Court on Monday ruled in favor of extraditing McAfee, who had argued in a hearing earlier this month that the charges against him by prosecutors in Tenessee were politically motivated and that he would spend the rest of his life in prison if he was returned to the U.S.
The court’s ruling was made public on Wednesday and was open for appeal. Any final extradition order would also need to get approval from the Spanish Cabinet.”
Furthermore, McAfee’s wife Janice has been extremely vocal in support of her husband and tweeted a Father’s day message on June 20th which read,
“These eight months John has spent in prison in Spain have been especially hard on his overall health both mentally and physically, as well as financially, but he is undeterred from continuing to speak truth to power,”
McAfee appeared in a video message to his Twitter followers last year entitled “Why Power Corrupts”. Many are of the opinion that those with that power, have finally caught up with him.

So in summary: a prominent third party candidate with legal avenues still unexplored and therefore his extradition not yet final, those closest to him certain of his will to continue his crusade against his persecutors, and given his own very well-publicized words: It’s difficult to accept the Spanish court’s assertion that “Everything points to death by suicide.” If the trends #McAfee and #JohnMcAfeeDidntKillHimself are any indications, millions of people aren’t buying it either.
The Libertarian Party of the United States has not yet made a statement regarding the death of their past candidate.
