A police officer is attempting to hold a Democrat lawmaker accountable for her actions. Lt. G.D. Langford arrested the Democrat after he became concerned that her actions, along with the actions of the mob of “protesters” she was with, may escalate to the level of the Capitol insurrection.
The Incident and Arrest
Georgia police officer Lt. G.D. Langford’s concerns began when a group of “protesters” assembled outside the office of Governor Brian Kemp. Langford noted that, at the time, Georgia state Representative Park Cannon “began to get louder as she was refusing to follow my commands.”
“The events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol were in the back of my mind,” he wrote in his report.
“I didn’t want the protestors to attempt to gain entry into a secure part of the Capitol,” Langford added.
Langford claims that he was trying to “de-escalate the situation,” but he “believed Cannon’s actions of obstructing law enforcement in front of agitated protestors to constitute a breach of the peace.”
The Atlanta Journal Constitution also notes that Langford’s report “includes a picture of a scuffed boot and what it says is bruising on Langford’s right foot.”
The left is complaining about a small clip of the video in which the officer grabs Cannon’s right wrist, handcuffs her, and assists another officer in forcing her out of the building, but she appears to have sustained no actual injuries.
Charges against the Democrat lawmaker include two felonies for obstructing law enforcement and disrupting a general assembly session. The sentence, if convicted, could be up to five years behind bars. Of course, Georgia Democrats are already calling for the charges to be dropped.
“Why are you arresting her?” This Facebook Live video from @TWareStevens shows the moment authorities detained state Rep. Park Cannon as @GovKemp was behind those doors signing elections restrictions into law. #gapol pic.twitter.com/U1xMJ6tZrY

The Bottom Line
The double standards of the left are undeniable at this point. A few crazy people storm the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., with many confused people following them inside, and that constitutes an insurrection and attempted overthrow of the government. But if the left enters a government building and actually gets violent, stating that their purpose there is to disrupt the session to prevent legislation from being passed, and the left claims it is a peaceful protest. They want to throw the book at every conservative who was in Washington, D.C. on January 6, but they want police to release actual rioters and criminals from jail. This situation just serves as another example of a long line of hypocrisy.
