Minimum Wage Hypocrisy
Biden’s nominee for Associate Attorney General, Vanita Gupta, has been an advocate for raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour.
“Raising wages is a moral question: do we value the people who are the engine of our economy or not? The answer must be yes,” Gupta said while serving as President and CEO of The Education Fund in 2018.
The Biden appointee is now being called out as a hypocrite, as newly discovered information shows that her family business, which has made her extremely wealthy, pays its workers only $1.30 an hour for a fifty hour work week in Mexico.
Gupta owns at least $500,000 worth of stock in Aptiv PLC, which is “an international auto parts manufacturer chaired by [Gupta’s] father” according to the Washington Free Beacon.
A job listing for the company’s Zacatecas, Mexico plant on Indeed.com shows that the employees are paid the equivalent of $260 per month for working fifty hours per week. According to the report, “Other positions currently advertised by the company include a full-time general operator job that pays $290 a month and a production line operator position that pays $274 a month.”
Whether it’s Believe All Women!™ or Fight for Fifteen!, you’ll always find a hypocrite hiding behind the slogan.

Even before the news of her hypocrisy came out, Republicans had been calling out Gupta as the most dangerous Biden appointee yet.
“I still am very concerned about Ms. Gupta’s nomination,” Texas Senator John Cornyn said. “She has avoided answering questions, or as in the case of her testimony here in front of the committee, she’s completely, 180 degrees — taken a 180-degrees position different from what she has on a previous occasion as recently as last summer when we had her before the committee [to] testify on police reform.”
“I remain very concerned about this nominee, I think she has the potential of being the most dangerous nominee to the Department of Justice; one that needs to shun politics and ideology in favor of enforcement of the rule of law on an evenhanded basis,” Cornyn continued.
The Bottom Line
Joe Biden nominated Gupta, a radical far-left attorney, for one of the most important positions in the country. Her past radical comments and her hypocrisy should disqualify her from office, but the radical Democrats in the Senate will likely vote to confirm, and with Kamala Harris as the tie-breaker, Gupta will likely be confirmed on a party-line vote.
