Amtrack finally ended its mask mandate for all staff members and guests.. In an e-mail sent out to all workers that night, the American Track National Railroad Passenger Corporation, or Amtrack, stated, “Amtrak passengers and employees are no longer required to wear masks while on board trains or in stations.”
After a federal judge in Florida overruled the Biden Administration’s required for masking on public transport, the business stated that it “acknowledges today’s federal court decision in Florida to strike down the CDC mask mandate for public modes of transportation. Amtrak’s updated policy follows the Administration’s approach to this issue.”
Update from @Amtrak "While Amtrak passengers and employees are no longer required to wear masks while on board trains or in stations, masks are welcome and remain an important preventive measure against COVID-19. Anyone needing or choosing to wear one is encouraged to do so."

The notification went on to state that mask use would continue to be acceptable on a voluntary basis, must guests or workers feel the need. Amtrack stated, “Mask usage is strongly recommended for those at personal high risk (e.g. not fully vaccinated or boosted, medical issue or personal situation),” the Amtrak e-mail stated. “Mask usage is strongly recommended for those who live or work in a high-risk community, as defined by CDC guidance.”
The e-mail even more kept in mind that staff members must keep a mask on hand, as specific people might be at a greater health threat and choose to mask while at a close distance to others. As a “professional courtesy,” they recommended workers need to be ready and prepared to use a mask in those circumstances.
“Extending this courtesy is consistent with our Amtrak Values, including Do the Right Thing, Put Customers First and Excel Together,” the email states.
Amtrack upgraded its site with the news, letting clients understand of the modification, stating, “While Amtrak passengers and employees are no longer required to wear masks while onboard trains or in stations, masks are welcome and remain an important preventive measure against COVID-19. Anyone needing or choosing to wear one is encouraged to do so.”
The choice from Amtrack comes as several airline companies revealed they have actually eliminated the mask mandate on aircraft and at airports after a federal judge ruled that the requirement was “unlawful.”.
The airline companies that have actually eliminated their mask mandates consist of American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, JetBlue, and Alaska Airlines.
