Shop NowOver the holiday weekend, Tennessee Democrat Roy Herron was involved in a horrible accident.
Herron was riding his jet ski when he collided with another jet ski.
It is now being reported that he succumbed to the injuries and passed away.
He was 69 years old.
He’s Gone
Herron is a rarity in today’s political scene… he was liked and adored by both sides of the aisle.
He was also very active athletically, having competed in dozens of marathons and ultra-marathons.
His accident, however, was unrelated to his running endeavors.
Herron was enjoying some time at Kentucky Lake when he collided with another jet skier, immediately being taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Vanderbilt’s medical facility.
The accident took place on July 1, and after several days, he succumbed to those injuries.
His wife, Rev. Nancy Carol Miller-Herron, stated, “Roy loved his family with all his might.
“He passed doing what he loved most — spending time with our sons and their friends in the Tennessee outdoors where his spirit was always most free.”
Fellow Democrat Joe Hill added, “His legacy of advocating for ‘the least among us’ will represent the gold standard of service for Democrats and Republicans in Tennessee’s future.”
Herron is survived by his wife and three sons.
