Zieler has been convicted of the murder and rape of 11-year-old Robin Cornell and her babysitter 32-year-old Lisa Story in Cape Coral over two decades ago.
Now facing the death penalty, he tried to take it out on his attorney.

Even though the murders occurred nearly two decades ago, the trial only recently concluded.
While Zieler was in the courtroom, he motioned to the bailiffs that he wanted to discuss something with his attorney.
As his attorney leaned in to talk to him, Zieler threw an elbow.
He was then wrestled to the ground by the bailiffs…
After the judge asked the attorney if he was okay, he responded, “I used to box.
“I’ve taken a lot better shots than that one.”
The attorney, Kevin Shirley, stated, “It seemed like he didn’t want our conversation to be picked up by the microphones.
“So he waved me down, and I bent over, and he struck me.
“The bailiffs were extremely quick to respond and eliminated any future threat.”
Zieler plans to appeal his death sentences for the murder, but he may need a new attorney after that little stunt.
