They both flipped blue seats and are a big reason why McCarthy is now the Speaker and not Pelosi.
Something happened this week, however, that has me a little concerned.
Amnesty?
If you took a survey of every Republican in this country on immigration, I think we know how it would come out.
Only a very small percentage would say that amnesty was an option for all the illegals that have been let into this country.
That, however, would not be the case for Salazar and Lawler.
We know this because they both just backed legislation that would give amnesty for illegal immigrants.
They are both backing the Dignity Act of 2023 was introduced by Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX).
With only a 10-seat edge, Democrats will only need four more Republicans to cross the line to get this legislation passed.
We are going to have to keep our eye on these two to see how many more times they side with Democrats.
It appears we just may have a wolf in the hen house.
