About two weeks ago, there was a train derailment in Ohio, as you well know.

Ohio had applied to FEMA for federal help related to the chemical spill.

Initially, they were declined help from FEMA, which created outrage around the nation, including some Democrats.

Two weeks later, FEMA has finally decided to cave and offer emergency assistance to the state.

How Can They Decline?

When Ohio first made its request, it was declined by FEMA.

The excuse given was that the conditions of the incident were not what FEMA would usually consider as a “disaster.”

FEMA stated, “FEMA is in constant contact with the emergency operations center in East Palestine and with the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.

“We are closely coordinating with EPA, HHS, and the CDC, who are helping to test the water and air quality, and to conduct public health assessments.”

On Friday, FEMA finally announced that it would help, but even this response is far too late.

The first hours after a spill like that are the most important, yet here we are two weeks later, well after the time the chemicals have soaked into the ground, FEMA decides to step in.

Just remember this incident when we start to see the people of East Palestine start to get sick and die for some unknown reason.
