Donald Trump just got hit again by Judge Engoron.
Engoron actually called Trump up on the stand this time to get Trump to clarify his comments.
He then told Trump that he did not believe his answer and whacked him with a $10,000 fine.
Just Stop It
Engoron was upset over a report in the media about comments that Trump had made.
The report quoted Trump, “This judge is a very partisan judge with a person who’s very partisan sitting alongside of him, perhaps even much more partisan than he is.”
Engoron wanted Trump to clarify how that person “alongside” him was.
Trump tried to say it was Michael Cohen, but the judge did not believe him, saying that he thought Trump was talking about his clerk.
So, he issued Trump a $10,000 fine for violating the gag order, as well as telling Trump that if this continues, he could possibly be tossed in jail.
The judge stated, “Make no mistake: future violations, whether intentional or unintentional, will subject the violator to far more severe sanctions.”
At this point, I am starting to wonder if Trump wants to be tossed in jail just to boost his fundraising.
Every time Trump has gotten into trouble, the money flows, so it would not surprise me at all if Trump keeps poking the bear on this one.
