Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) has finally addressed the calls for her to resign from her office.
The 89-year-old Senator stated that she has no plans to step down.
In fact, her office even hinted that there could be a chance that she will run for re-election in 2024.
When the Time Comes…
Feinstein has had some major mental gaffes in recent months.
She recently got involved in a conversation with a member of the media not long after casting a vote where she completely forgot what the legislation was that she had just voted on.
Similar situations have happened on multiple occasions.
While members of the Senate will not go on the record regarding her condition, they have been talking about her and her mental issues.
One anonymous lawmaker stated, “I have worked with her for a long time and long enough to know what she was like just a few years ago: always in command, always in charge, on top of the details, basically couldn’t resist a conversation where she was driving some bill or some idea.
“All of that is gone.”
Even so, Feinstein, when pressed on whether she would finish her term, stated, “Yes, absolutely.
“There’s still two years, you know.
“A lot can happen in two years.”
Her office backed that up, stating, “The senator has no plans to step down and will announce her plans for 2024 at the appropriate time.”
