Speaker Johnson Drops the Hammer

House Speaker Mike Johnson took all the guesswork out of which bathroom to use. Transgender “women” aren’t welcome in the ladies’ room. He announced on Wednesday that everyone using the facilities on the House side of the Capitol must use the plumbing that matches the equipment they were born with. There are “unisex” facilities available, the speaker reminds, for those who aren’t sure.

Johnson sets policy

On Wednesday, November 20, House Speaker Mike Johnson officially announced a policy decision. The regulation will apply “to bathrooms in House office buildings, changing rooms and locker rooms.

He has the authority to do that. Under House rules, the speaker is granted “general control” of facilities in the chamber.

All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex,” Johnson wrote. Democrats can’t claim discrimination.

It is important to note that each member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol.

The fairer sex should be granted some basic respect. “Women deserve women’s only spaces,” Johnson added. Making the announcement on “Transgender Day of Remembrance” totally infuriated the metrosexual mafia.

Controversy has been swirling since South Carolina lawmaker Nancy Mace introduced a bill “to bar transgender women from facilities on Capitol Hill that match their gender identity.” That measure was specifically targeted at newly elected Delaware lawmaker Sarah McBride.

Transgender “women” aren’t welcome in the ladies’ room.

Follow the rules

As soon as Johnson made his announcement, McBride issued a statement of their own acknowledging acceptance and promising compliance. the “first openly transgender person in Congress” doesn’t want to fight a losing battle over the issue. Conservatives can appreciate that.

Most on the right are quick to accept that it doesn’t matter how you dress or who you sleep with. All that matters is preventing personal opinions and lifestyle from disrupting everyone else in the office.

I’m not here to fight about bathrooms, I’m here to fight for Delawareans and to bring down costs facing families,” McBride relates. “Like all members, I will follow the rules as outlined by Speaker Johnson, even if I disagree with them.

Fair enough. The speaker doesn’t want Mace’s bill to become a big deal. “We don’t look down upon anyone. We treat everybody with dignity and respect. That’s a principle that I’ve pursued my whole life.

Women who were born women are entitled to some respect and privacy. According to Nancy Mace, “this person wants to come in and use women’s spaces. If I’m in as a woman, I’m changing clothes in the locker room, because I use the gym. When I’m up here in DC, the women’s gym, and a man shows up in his genitalia. His penis is in the room. No, like, I’m not. It’s not okay.

Transgenders can have their respect and privacy also. Johnson insists “We’ll provide appropriate accommodation for every member of Congress.” He went on to clarify things for those educated in public schools. “Let me be unequivocally clear: a man is a man, and a woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman. That said, I also believe that’s what scripture teaches, what I just said, but I also believe we treat everybody with dignity. We can do and believe all those things at the same time.
