Shop NowRichard Grenell, who we like to call “America’s James Bond,” will be President Donald Trump’s “envoy for special missions.” Back when he served as acting director of national intelligence he fought so hard to get his hands on documents, favorable to Trump in the Russia collusion case, that Adam Schiff couldn’t keep hiding them. That’s just one incident.
Special agent envoy
Richard Grenell has perfect qualifications to be President Trump’s new “envoy for special missions.” At one time, he was our ambassador to Germany. After that, he served as acting director of national intelligence.
That’s where he proved he has a bunch of intelligence himself. Along with dogged determination to get the job done and a solidly conservative political outlook.
Grenell is a battle tested Trump loyalist “known for unbridled social media attacks on Mr. Trump’s perceived critics and many others.”
His special new envoy, the president posted on Truth Social, “will continue to fight for Peace through Strength, and always put AMERICA FIRST.”
It’s not clear what the full scope of his duties will be and Grenell isn’t talking to the press about it yet. The envoy job was specially created just for him. He had been hoping to land the Secretary of State gig but Marco Rubio edged him out.
Trump wants Grenell to know he’s still got a valuable role to play in foreign policy. “Ric will work in some of the hottest spots around the World, including Venezuela and North Korea.”

Below the radar
While disappointed he didn’t get the glamour job he wanted, the role as envoy matches his proven record. He’ll be answering only to the president and free to travel the globe where duty takes him, unencumbered by a huge staff and entourage to drag around behind him.
It’s a lot like the role John Kerry held in Biden’s administration, so Democrats won’t be able to whine too much about it. Another advantage will be that Grenell won’t be weighed down by his personal baggage.
“Being named for a lower-profile White House envoy job could help Mr. Grenell avoid persistent questions about his paid work for foreign clients, including luxury hotel development projects he has pursued in the Balkans with Jared Kushner, the president-elect’s son-in-law.”
Nobody in the new administration cares to be distracted by meaningless noise created by Democrat detractors.
Richard Grenell also is familiar with Kash Patel. He worked with the incoming FBI director for around three months under Trump’s first term. They were both involved in the effort to “oversee a wave of document declassifications aimed at discrediting the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment of Russia’s pro-Trump machinations in the 2016 presidential campaign.”
They were after documents that proved all the Russian collusion was really between the Kremlin and Hillary Clinton, with a whole lot of help from Christopher Steele, the FBI and several of the alphabet intelligence agencies. As Trump’s personal envoy, he’ll be more like a “secret agent.” That’s perfect cover for a guy who’s already a secret agent.
