The British Interior Minister Suella Braverman announced a plan that would enable her department to not only refuse asylum to illegal immigrants but to ban them entirely.
According to a report from Reuters, Braverman said it was her “dream” to see a UK government flight deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda.
The UK government under new Prime Minister Liz Truss has been under significant pressure to make accommodations for the skyrocketing number of illegal immigrants making dangerous crossings of the English Channel.

These illegal immigrants continue to arrive in spite of threats of deportation to the former British colony of Rwanda.
We returned over 500 dangerous criminals in September.
To those who come to 🇬🇧 and break our laws, the message is clear: you are not welcome here.

Braverman told her conservative colleagues at the party’s annual conference that she is committed to investigating new government powers to deport illegal immigrants.
“We have to stop the boats crossing the Channel. This has gone on for far too long,” Braverman said according to Reuters.
“I will pledge to you today that I will bring forward legislation to make it clear that the only route to the United Kingdom is through a safe and legal route.”
Reuters reported that Clare Mosley, the founder of Care4Calais called the proposals “barbaric, untruthful and unnecessary,” arguing most asylum seekers are genuine refugees.
Braverman shrugged off the accusations of barbarism, racism or “victim blaming.”
“It’s not racist for anyone, ethnic minority or otherwise, to want to control our borders,” she said. “It’s time to tackle the small boats – no ifs, no buts.”
