Passengers on a Frontier Airlines flight to Dallas were stunned as the pilot was hauled away in handcuffs. They were really disappointed to learn that the airline didn’t have a replacement handy. That meant they were stuck in Houston until “the next available flight.” They’ll be writing Pete Buttigieg demanding he do something about such nonsense as soon as they manage to get home.

Pilot under arrest

It’s actually a good thing that the pilot was arrested before the plane took off.

People with criminal matters hanging over their heads aren’t the most emotionally stable and the passengers wouldn’t like being part of his suicide, if he were so inclined.

Not that anyone’s suggesting Seymour Walker would off himself and a plane full of passengers over a family violence assault rap. Still, these days it’s better not to take any chances.

The “Frontier Airlines pilot was reportedly taken into custody on the tarmac just before the Dallas-bound aircraft was getting ready to depart” from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Houston Police moved in around 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 to serve the arrest warrant. They waited until the plane was loaded and ready to pull away from the gate before breaking the news to passengers that they had to get back off.

Everything had to come back down from the overhead compartments and all the screaming toddlers had to be dragged back up the aisles. Meanwhile, they didn’t alert the pilot that he was their target. They just let him sit there safely in the cockpit until everyone was cleared away.

Flight was immediately canceled

Houston police confirmed that pilot Seymour Walker “was wanted on an assault family violence warrant from the Department of Public Safety.

The airline isn’t saying much about the incident other than “the flight was immediately canceled due to a replacement crew member being unavailable.

Unless one of the passengers happened to be an off duty Frontier Pilot, there weren’t many options. “Passengers could get a full refund, credit, or a reservation on the next available flight.

Additionally, the airline provided hotel accommodations, if necessary and a $100 flight voucher.” Coupons! You give me coupons! Stranded customers howl.

Once all the angry passengers were safely off the plane, “Walker was arrested without incident.” Police were happy to note that none of the upset passengers were charged with assault either.

They may not have been happy about being stuck in Houston but nobody tried to get physical with Frontier staff over it. Security was keeping a close eye on the agitated mob, just in case. There’s no word on if the Pilot was given bond and released or if he remains in custody.
