In a case that is eerily similar, Nikki Alcaraz, 33, left Nashville a few weeks ago and has not been heard from since.
The case shares many similarities to the Petito case, which already has people thinking the worst.
Just Gone
According to Nikki’s sister, Toni Alcaraz, she left with her boyfriend, Tyler Stratton, in early May.
The couple took the dog, got in their jeep, and headed across the country to visit their family in California.
On May 8, Nikki texted her sisters that they were in Arizona.
That was the last time she heard from her sister.
Toni stated, “Then I didn’t hear anything else after that Monday morning.
“I talk to her almost every day, so I am scared something happened to them.”
Just like the Petito case, the couple had a run in with the police in New Mexico four days before her last text.
A witness stated that Stratton had punched Nikki in the face.
Stratton was also reportedly bleeding when police caught up to them, telling the officers that she struck him, but neither of them wanted to press charges.
Nikki called her sister after the incident.
She explained, “Her eye was already turning black and you could tell she was beat up pretty bad.”
A friend drove out to get Nikki, but her sister stated, “That morning when they were supposed to leave, she told him that she had to go back and find Tyler because she had a bad feeling, and so he left without her.”
That was the last person to see her alive, and after the text on the 8th, nobody has heard from her or her boyfriend.
