Liz Cheney Dealt MASSIVE DEFEAT in Wyoming

In a long-expected development, the Wyoming Republican Party has voted officially to cease recognizing Congresswoman Liz Cheney as a member, more or less expelling the Anti-Trump, Neo-Con heiress to the Cheney political dynasty from the very same party that her father once effectively commanded. Since November 2020, Cheney’s political favor has been in dramatic decline as she first turned her back on President Trump during the election and then subsequently aligned herself with Democrats under Nancy Pelosi in Trump’s second impeachment. Her approval ratings in her home state and amongst Republicans nationwide have been in free-fall punctuated by a massive decline after decline with each assault she lobs at the America-First majority of the party led by the 45th President, exemplified most clearly in her choosing to join the hyper-partisan witch-hunt of the House Committee on the January 6th riots.

“The 31-29 vote Saturday in Buffalo, Wyoming, by the state party central committee followed votes by local GOP officials in about one-third of Wyoming’s 23 counties to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican,” The Associated Press reported. “In February, the Wyoming GOP central committee voted overwhelmingly to censure Cheney, Wyoming’s lone U.S. representative, for voting to impeach Trump.”

This is the latest in a long and thoroughly drawn-out process to extirpate Cheney from the Wyoming GOP that owes largely to the fact that the Republican National Committee and the constituent State Republican Committees lack the formal processes to expel a member, a similar phenomenon occurred in Arizona in 2017-18 when Senator John McCain was censured by the Arizona GOP only because the mechanism to expel him didn’t exist, even in Arizona: it still doesn’t.

The Certainty Of Defeat For Cheney

This cannot be stressed enough, whilst the GOP lacks an effective method for the expulsion of a member, the Wyoming GOP is doing everything it can to affect the same result. And recent polling in the state shows that any possibility at re-election that she may have countenanced with the support of the Bush’s or other powerful GOP backers, has been completely foreclosed by the voters.

In August, according to DSRH, and the Casper Star-Tribune, “Carbon County’s GOP has been joined by Park County Republican officials who also voted unanimously.

“YOU WILL NO LONGER BE RECOGNIZED AS THE OFFICIAL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE BY THE PARK COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY,” MARTIN KIMMET, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PARK COUNTY REPUBLICANS, WROTE IN A LETTER THURSDAY TO CHENEY

The coordinated effort is a symbolic if not a directly impactful blow to Cheney’s hopes as re-election, dim such as they are.

According to Newsweek’s latest polling from Morning Consult and the political news publication Politico poll conducted during May. Cheney is in DEEP trouble in the overwhelmingly Republican state of Wyoming.

  • “While only 15 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters view Cheney favorably, 42 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters view her favorably.
  • Conversely, while 53 percent of Republican voters view Cheney unfavorably, only 22 percent of Democrats view her unfavorably. Put another way, nearly 2.5 times more Republicans disfavor Cheney than Democrats.”

Correnti added that GOP officials from Uinta, Big Horn, Laramie, and Weston counties who have upcoming meetings in the next weeks have all requested copies of the resolution.

“Park County set up the ball, Carbon County spiked it,” Joey Correnti, chairman of the Carbon County Republican Party, told the Star-Tribune. “And now other counties, I say by the end of the week you’ll have at least three or four other counties that are having meetings that will pass a similar resolution.”

Both the resolutions complete with letters to Cheney ended with the same sentiment.

“IN SHORT, AND IN THE IMMORTAL WORDS OF THE 45TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, DONALD J. TRUMP…”YOU’RE FIRED!””

In September, two GOP Primary straw polls also revealed that Senate hopeful Marissa Selvig, former Mayor of Pavillion, WY “outpolled Harriet Hageman handily in both surveys by an average of 45 to 30 percent. Liz Cheney, the person both candidates want to defeat received only slim support — three percent among registered Republicans and none among central committee members.” as reported by BigFoot99 KTGA.

One thing seems virtually certain: Liz Cheney will never be elected in Wyoming again. Her only hope for a political future that extends beyond 2022 appears to be relocating to a blue state and becoming a full-blown Democrat.
