Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has argued that illegal aliens should continue being used as slave labor because black Americans are “done picking cotton.”
Apparently, Democrats are still in support of slavery. Crockett, who has made headlines numerous times in recent weeks for outlandish and abhorrent remarks, made her latest shocking statement during an event at Grace Baptist Church in Connecticut where attendees had to pay $75 to hear her speak.
While speaking at the event, Crockett claimed that she had been going around the country to “educate people about what immigrants” do for the United States, claiming that nobody but illegal aliens is “trying to go and farm right now.”
“I had to go around the country and educate people about what immigrants do for this country, or the fact that we are a country of immigrants,” Crockett said in the video shared by Rugg. “The fact is, ain’t none of y’all trying to go and farm right now … we done picking cotton. We are. You can’t pay us enough to find a plantation.”

Predictably, social media lit up with backlash for Crockett’s comments.

This is far from the first time that Crockett said something abhorrent, as she was recently called out for discriminatory remarks after she referred to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who is in a wheelchair, “Governor Hot Wheels.” This has prompted calls for the House of Representatives to censure Crockett, especially in light of the fact that she assaulted a reporter who was trying to question her about her comments.

Crockett also faced backlash for thinly veiled calls for violence, as she stated that the way for Democrats to win elections is to “punch” and argued that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) needed to be “knocked over the head, like, hard.”
