Shop NowICYMI – Not long ago, it was reported that American fighters had to scare off Russian fighters from our airspace on two different days.
Well, it now appears the Chinese are returning the favor.
A US fighter that was flying over the South China Sea was reportedly warned off by the Chinese.
Game On
According to reports, “A U.S. Navy plane recently flying over the South China Sea reportedly received an ominous radio warning from China before the country scrambled a jet to track the U.S. aircraft.”
A Chinese ground station told the aircraft, “No approaching any more or you will pay full responsibility.”
Cmdr. Marc Hines stated, “Since I’ve been in the Navy, going on 18, 19 years now, I can tell you there is a dramatic change over that span, specifically the South China Sea.”
The Chinese have started to build artificial islands in the South China Sea, thereby extending the country’s reach.
This “warning” comes after Chinese officials and members of Secretary Blinken’s team have been trading punches, both in person and in the media.
This surely will not help lower the tension between two countries that seem destined for a conflict of some sort.
We just have to wait and see if this will continue to be a war of words or if it will escalate further.
