Shop NowThis time, it’s the House Homeland Security Committee with “tons of questions” about the recently identified loss of “operational security” scandal. On Thursday, the committee teased that they’re turning up the heat on Alejandro Mayorkas.
House committee zeroes in
Tennessee lawmaker Mark Green is zeroing in on Democrat ineptitude. He sits as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and was paying really close attention to what Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz had to say, when he testified on Wednesday.
Ortiz was the main witness at the committee’s field hearing in McAllen, Texas.
Not only does Ortiz disagree with the decision to stop work on the border security wall, he was a lot more upset with the ill-conceived policies “that were holding agents back from doing their job.” He dropped a nuclear bombshell by declaring “the U.S. does not have operational control of the border.”

Everyone present on the House committee instantly realized Ortiz was calling his boss, Alejandro Mayorkas, a liar. Multiple sectors, Ortiz testified, “were overwhelmed by the historic migrant flows being encountered.”
Every single one of the Democrats on the House committee skipped the field trip at the last moment. They weren’t present to hear evidence that there really is a crisis. “In five of those nine southwest border sectors, we have seen an increase in flow and that has caused a considerable strain on our resources and really has forced the Border Patrol to move agents and even migrants to some of the other areas.”
Panel progressives watched the news in horror as they came to the sudden realization that their panel would be grilling Mayorkas directly. Just as soon as they can get their hands on him. That won’t be good.
Tons of questions
The testimony Ortiz gave to the House was both powerful and dramatic. It also ties in with a recent federal decision on a Florida case. That one declared that Biden’s whole “catch and release” scheme is totally illegal. There are no acceptable “alternatives” to detention and the “parole” loophole snapped shut.
Judge T. Kent Wetherell put an automatic one week stay on his ruling so the government could appeal. They decided not to and made it official. The DOJ issued a statement confirming they won’t be filing one. Not only that, Title 42 is about to expire soon and there are thousands of anxious migrants pounding on the gates.
Green confirmed to Fox News that “Mayorkas is likely to be one of those who the committee wants to provide testimony.” The House, he glowers, will have “tons of questions” for him.

“I think we want to talk to all the sector chiefs, but certainly the five that are struggling with the overflow right now and get their perspectives,” Green explained. “And then at some point, Secretary Mayorkas is going to have to come and answer the question, did he lie to Congress or is he just ignorant about the definition in the code on what defines operational security?”
Texas lawmaker August Pfluger was also on hand to hear Ortiz testify. The Chief, he notes, “is to be commended for walking a fine line, as one of my other colleagues said, of being respectful of the political hierarchy, but also telling the truth and saying enough is enough.”
The House panel appreciates his candor. “It was about time. I’m grateful that somebody had the courage to tell the truth about that.” He also wants to probe Mayorkas with some sharply pointed questions. “I think that we should move quickly, with a sense of urgency to have Secretary Mayorkas testify in front of Congress. We have heard from the lead officer in charge of the security of our border that it’s not secure. And now the same question needs to be posed to Secretary Mayorkas. Will he disagree with the lead officer in charge of border security?“
