If we are ever going to wrestle the West Virginia Senate seat away from Democrats, there is no time like the present.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) has betrayed the trust of a lot of people over the last few years.
He sold both the left and the right out, and Rep. Alex Mooney (R-W.V.) will try to get that seat away from him.
Time to Go, Joe
If 2024 is a good year, we will say goodbye to two Joes.
The first is obvious; the second is Joe Manchin.
He is just as guilty as any other Democrat for the out-of-control spending in DC right now.
He is also suffering from some of his worst approval ratings since taking the seat.
That being said, we know Democrats will never pull the handle for a Republicans, so Mooney is going to have to hit home with the independent voters in the state to take Manchin down.
Mooney stated, “West Virginia values are at risk in this country.
“We’re bankrupting America. I want to be a part of the solution there.
“It’s been talked about a lot, but I’m going to announce.
“I’m announcing it right now that I’m running for the U.S. Senate.
“I’m all in.”
Manchin took the high road, as I suspected he would, stating, “I’ve always been opposed in every election I’ve ever been in.
“So with that I encourage people to get involved in the process.”
Inside, however, I would wager he is worried like he never has been.
He is in real trouble this time, and he knows it.
