Shop NowIf you were growing up in the late 1950s though 1970s, it is a safe bet that you had a “thing” for Raquel Welch.
She had just hit the entertainment scene in 1964 and in 1966 she became one of the hottest actresses in the business.
Sadly, she has passed away after what her manager described as a brief illness.
She was 82 years old.
Fame and Fortune
As noted above, Welch’s first credit was in 1964, having done some small parts and even an uncredited role in an Elvis movie.
After “Fantastic Voyage,” she was here to stay.
If you were lucky, you snagged a “One Million Years B.C.” poster, which used Welch in a caveman-era bikini to market the movie…
By the mid-1970s, her star fizzled a little, but she had a resurgence after this role in the “Naked Gun” series…
Welch’s last credit was in 2017 in a TV series called “Date My Dad.”
Rest in peace, Raquel, for you will be missed.
