Shop NowGeorgia District Attorney Fani Willis is playing power games with Donald Trump.
She just dropped two dates on Trump, neither of which will make him happy.
First, Willis has given Trump and his 18 co-defendants until August 25 to surrender.
She also announced a possible court date that will not make Trump very happy.
Let’s Do This
The indictment dropped by Willis on Friday night stated, “Defendant Donald John Trump lost the United States presidential election held on November 3, 2020. One of the states he lost was Georgia.
“Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump.
“That conspiracy contained a common plan and purpose to commit two or more acts of racketeering activity in Fulton County, Georgia, elsewhere in the State of Georgia, and in other states.”
Among other charges, Trump is facing RICO and obstruction charges.
In all, there were 41 felony counts listed against a total of 19 people in the indictment.
To make this even more complicated for Trump, Willis wants to start the trail in February, which would fill in the small hole that Trump still had available.
As it stands right now, Trump would have the Smith case starting in January, the Willis case starting in February, the Bragg case starting in March, and the second Smith case for the classified documents in May.
Basically, if these dates hold, the entire primary season for Donald J. Trump is booked in the courtroom defending himself against the actions he allegedly took post-2020 election.
