Most of us are a bit upset at how the election went.
We never got our red wave, but there was some good to come out of it.
If we manage to somehow get the Senate, well, even without the big numbers, it was a great win.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) also made an observation that all those first-time candidates who lost would be well-advised to listen to.
It’s Not About ‘I’
What is the one big knock against Trump right now?
He talks about himself more than the candidates and more than what his plan is for the future.
Like many of these candidates, Trump does not seem to understand that it is about us, especially when times are tough.
We want to know about a plan, and how problems will be fixed, not that the media is not telling the truth about you or anything else.
What are you going to do for us?
What are you going to do to fix this country?
To that point, Cruz stated, “If you’re going to win, you’ve got to make the election about issues and not personalities.
“And by the way, this is a broader point: I think too many of these Republican races became personality battles.
“When you have first-time candidates who’ve never run, who are celebrities or coming from outside, they have no record.
“They have no voting record.
“They’ve not been involved in issues.
“They’ve never taken a stand on anything.
“They frequently make major mistakes and, you know, experience matters.”
Great advice. Let’s just hope they all follow next time around.
