Shop NowActress Christina Applegate, who got her big break as a child starring as Kelly Bundy on the Fox sitcom Married With Children, has revealed a heartbreaking announcement that has her fans extremely concerned.
Christina Applegate revealed in a post on Twitter that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
“Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some asshole blocks it,” she wrote.

This isn’t Applegate’s first time being diagnosed with a serious illness. In 2008, she underwent a bilateral mastectomy for breast cancer. In 2017, Applegate announced that she had had her ovarian and fallopian tubes removed.
WJTV reports: “Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, inflammatory condition of the central nervous system affecting nearly 1 million people in the U.S. It affects the brain and spinal cord, slowing down or blocking communications between the brain and body. Most people are diagnosed from ages 20 to 50, and the cause is unknown, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.”
Applegate has asked that people respect her privacy as she faces this new health challenge.
“As one of my friends that has MS said “ we wake up and take the indicated action”. And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo,” she wrote.
