Catholic Relief Services just lost half their funding at one fell swoop. All the migrants in the sanctuary of their shelters will need to find another source of food and supplies. Officials declare they’re “bracing for massive cuts.” All because President Donald Trump insists on eliminating the fraud and abuse.

Relief funding slashed

When USAID suddenly went dark, Catholic Relief Services lost about half their funding.

If they want to continue aiding and abetting illegal aliens then the Pope will need to sell off a few of the Vatican’s gold relics. They aren’t getting any more money from Uncle Sam to help break the law.

CRS found themselves in the position of suddenly needing to trim their spending by “as much as 50% this year.” They say it’s “because of draconian reductions in U.S. foreign assistance ordered by the Trump administration.

We were handing them half their funding. The fraud and abuse at USAID was rampant under Democrat supervision.

The CEO of the Catholic charity sent around an internal email seen by the press. As Sean Callahan pointed out, “CRS is the top recipient of funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development, known as USAID.

The Trump administration spending freeze was followed up with “office closure and extensive staff cuts this week.” Everyone getting checks from the federal Treasury lost their funding. At least temporarily.

Layoffs and shutdowns

As soon as CRS heard the bad news about their funding, they instantly started laying off staff. The charity has “been forced to begin shutting down programs funded by USAID.” They’re used to lighting $1.5 billion bucks a year on fire.

From now on, CRS will need to rely on donations from progressives who wish to continue their work. Alex Soros isn’t returning their messages. They’ve left several. Oprah Winfrey apparently isn’t available to come to the phone either. All they get is an answering machine when they call Bill Gates.

On February 3, Callahan broke the bad news. “We anticipate that we will be a much smaller overall organization by the end of this fiscal year.

Without U.S. federal funding, they won’t be able meet the needs of America’s undocumented asylum seekers. That’s okay, Border Czar Tom Homan replies. They won’t be here much longer.

After Callahan sent out his email, CRS stopped answering their own phone. It’s been ringing off the hook as panic stricken program administrators wonder how they’re going find funding for their own accustomed lifestyle. “CRS officials at its headquarters in Baltimore did not respond to requests for comment.

The church isn’t talking either. “U.S. bishops’ conference, which created the organization 82 years ago, also did not respond to a request for comment.” Let the Vatican provide the funding if their programs are so important.
