Shop NowWhen everyone woke on Sunday morning, they found out that a horrific plane crash had taken place.
A small plane carrying a dozen tourists fell from the sky in Brazil, killing everyone aboard.
In addition to the 12 tourists, the pilot and co-pilot were also killed.
Bad Trip
The passengers were all on their way to a fishing trip in the Brazilian northern state of Amazonas in the Barcelos region.
This area is known for amazing ornamental fishing, most notably the peacock bass.
This also happens to be the kickoff to the height of the fishing season, so the area is packed with tourists just like these 12 that died.
The plane had taken off but experienced bad weather and was trying to land in a driving rain storm when it crashed.
Wilson Lima, Governor of Amazonas, stated, “I deeply regret the death of the 12 passengers and two crew members who were victims of the plane crash in Barcelos on Saturday.
“Our teams have been working from the outset to provide the necessary support.
“My sympathy and prayers go out to their families and friends.”
The Manaus Aerotaxi airline also issued a statement: “We count on respect for the privacy of those involved at this difficult time and will be available to provide all necessary information and updates as the investigation progresses.”
The accident is now under investigation by the Brazilian Air Force and local authorities.
