Shop NowThe Remain in Mexico Policy (formally known as Migrant Protection Protocols, or MPP) can now be ended per a Supreme Court ruling, and our borders are about to get crushed.
This was a huge policy for Trump to control immigration at the border.
It was especially useful for asylum cases that were not realistically going to be approved.
Well, guess who is going to bring them all back?
Welcome to America
Biden rarely used this policy, but it was a threat.
To that point, only about 5,500 people were enrolled in the program during this administration.
During the Trump administration, there were 75,000, which is what has everyone worried.
We already know Biden will bring his 5,500 right back, process them, and send them on their merry way.
Conservative groups that want to limit immigration believe they will also bring all the Trump enrollees back.
For instance, Jessica M. Vaughan, policy director for immigration restrictionist group the Center for Immigration Studies, stated, “The Biden administration immediately announced that, not only will they shut down MPP completely … but that they are inviting any of the 75,000 people who had been enrolled in MPP under Trump to return to the U.S. border to enter and be allowed to live here for an indefinite time as asylum seekers.
“In other words, Biden is giving them what Trump denied them — a free pass into the U.S. on the pretext of applying for asylum they are unlikely to qualify for.”
The other downside is that once the weather cools off, we will see more massive surges at the border, which is scary considering the numbers are currently around 200,000 per month.
It is not unrealistic to think that between illegal apprehensions and gotaways, this fiscal year will see 3,000,000 illegals entering this country.
Where are they going to work?
Where will they live?
I think we all know the answer to that question.
Those who can work will likely be working illegally and driving wages into the toilet.
The rest of them will be living off the system on our dime.
Thanks, Joe, that is just what we need during a recession.
