People like Al Sharpton thrive on chaos and divide.
He just did his best to whip some up at the recent funeral of Tyre Nichols.
Nichols was the young man that was beaten by five Memphis police officers and later died as a direct result of that beating.
Black Cops Are Not Black
People like Sharpton and BLM advocated for more black police officers in their communities.
Now that they have them, we are hearing activists say black cops are not black, which is how they are advocating racism in the beating that Nichols took.
The Chief of Police is black and the officers that kicked, punched, tased, and pepper-sprayed Nichols were black.
There was one white officer that showed up after the majority of the beating took place, but he surely was not the one doing field goal kicks with Nichols’ face.
Even so, Sharpton pushed the racist angle, stating,”‘ Well, Reverend Al, you don’t understand: how are they going to keep crime down in the Black community and, at the same time not be tough and rough?’
“Well, the same way they do it on the White side of Memphis and keep the crime down, without being rough and tough.
“I can’t speak for everybody in Memphis, I can’t speak for everybody gathering, but for me, I believe if that man had been White, you wouldn’t have beat him like that that night.”
I can answer both of his points.
First, this is not an issue limited to just black suspects, with a recent case in Arkansas looking eerily similar to Nichols case, only it was a white suspect…

We never see those cases, however, because nobody gets whipped up when a white suspect takes a beating.
Second, a large part of the problem is that black leaders have created such a level of distrust between police and the minority community, more than ever before, suspects are running or fighting back right out of the gate, which escalates the situation.
You want to know who is to blame for police violence in black communities? Just look in the mirror, Al.
